The EOS 1D X /5D3 / 5D 4 now allows the separate AF microfitting for the wid angle as well as photos of the zoom lens. So I generally use the Auto Focus when performing lens experiments for auto focus glasses. A camera bag with zoo and prime lenses is presented to many of us. The depth of the field scale at the lens of any movie camera–an concept which seems to have unfortunately been lost with electronic SLRs–is a good illustration of this.
So try micro-adjusting your focus with this test before you go out and hurry to purchase a new camera. If you have a lens that only stops about 4.5, the image will have a reasonable depth of field even at its widest aperture, and thus will not be greatly affected by any issues with the focus on the front or back. Check out the outcomes of the sample pictures to see if the pictures are clear.
To adjust the focusing error, your camera has to be recalibrated. A situation in which the camera is focused consistently behind the desired focus point.
